Jennifer Arevalo Rodriguez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Reiki Master, and Peruvian-trained Shaman whose work is deeply rooted in heart-centered, trauma-informed, and soul-embodied care. As a first-generation Latina with ancestral ties to Latin America and Egypt, Jennifer bridges ancestral wisdom with Western therapeutic strategies to foster deeper connections to Source | God | Creator. Her holistic approach integrates indigenous social justice practices, including ceremonies of the heart (Decolonial Social Work), to support the collective liberation of the heart and soul.

Jennifer’s upbringing was shaped by the resilience and struggles of her immigrant parents, who faced colonialism, racism, and financial hardship. Growing up in the Bronx and later in the Poconos, she witnessed her family’s transformation—from poverty to building a thriving family business—while navigating the complexities of assimilation, religious trauma, and cultural identity. These experiences, combined with the dysfunction and challenges within her household, ignited her passion for understanding trauma, resilience, and healing.

After earning her education in New York City, where she studied cultural and religious identity, Jennifer’s early career focused on working with children and adolescents. Her background as a special education teacher enabled her to understand behavioral patterns and emotional needs. Over time, her focus shifted to helping adults, couples, and families in spiritual awakening and self-actualization processes, especially those navigating cultural transitions and attachment trauma. Drawing from her personal journey and global experiences—including working with refugees, witnessing political upheavals, and supporting intercultural and interreligious families—Jennifer’s work is deeply informed by the intersections of culture, spirituality, and relational dynamics.

Jennifer’s therapeutic practice combines indigenous healing traditions, energetic medicine, and Western psychological techniques, with an emphasis on reparenting and attachment work. Her expertise extends to couples therapy, where she addresses the intricate tensions between love, security, freedom, and adventure. She creates a safe space for folks to explore the unspoken, challenge societal norms, and embrace the paradoxes of intimate relationships. Her approach is informed by disciplines such as neuroscience, attachment theory, intersectionality, and various psychological modalities, including Narrative Therapy, Ecopsychology, Somatic Psychology, and Transpersonal Psychology.

As a mother to a young daughter and twin sons, Jennifer is personally engaged in the “cultural experiment” of motherhood in a turbulent world. Her life experiences have shaped her as a teacher, professor, community social worker, hospice social worker, and clinical behavioral specialist. These roles have informed her compassionate and empowering voice, as well as her dedication to helping others confront their joys and pains, find understanding, and embrace transformative change.

Jennifer is particularly fascinated by the vastness of human sexuality and its role at the intersection of history, sociology, religion, art, and psychology. She views sexuality as a lens through which both traditional cultural values and progressive societal changes are expressed. Through her work, Jennifer seeks to deconstruct stereotypes, provoke honest conversations, and build a community around the complexities of intimate life. She encourages her clients to engage with their emotional and spiritual selves while embracing the mystery and playfulness of life.

Grounded in the belief that there is a profound difference between merely surviving and truly living, Jennifer’s work is a call to vitality, resilience, and the pursuit of meaning. Her commitment to lifelong learning ensures that she continues to grow alongside her clients, exploring the depths of human connection and liberation until the end of her journey.
